Deere calls for footpath repairs at Davitt’s Terrace

Castlebar Town Councillor Ger Deere has called on Mayo County Council to repair the footpaths at Davitt’s Terrace and the surrounding areas of the Sacred Heart Hospital as part of their ongoing works on Newline Street. The footpaths between Newline Street and the Sacred Heart have fallen into disrepair and are completely unsuitable considering the number of elderly and infirm people using the route. Many elderly people walk to the Sacred Heart visiting friends or receiving treatments.

Non essential services were not available to the people of Mayo for the day as the thousands of public service workers in the county voiced their anger at potential cut backs to their pay and conditions in the upcoming Budget.
